Job Description

Location: near Hodgkins Illinois

Position Type: FullTime

As a School Physical Therapist you will be essential in assisting students in developing recovering or maintaining their physical mobility and functional abilities. You will deliver clientcentered services that empower students to participate confidently and independently in school activities and daily life. This role provides the chance to collaborate with educators families and other professionals to support student success and wellbeing.

In this role youll:
  • Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments to evaluate students motor skills balance coordination and physical function.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and in collaboration with the students educational team and family.
  • Provide direct physical therapy services to students including therapeutic exercises mobility training and use of assistive devices.
  • Work with teachers special education staff and other related service providers to integrate therapy goals into students educational programs and classroom activities.
  • Monitor students progress and adjust treatment plans as needed maintaining accurate documentation of therapy sessions and progress reports.
  • Educate and support students families and school staff regarding strategies for promoting physical development mobility and independence within the school setting.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings including IEP meetings to develop and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.

Requirements

  • Master s or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Valid Illinois state license or eligibility for licensures as a Physical Therapist.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of physical therapy assessment tools and intervention strategies excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
