Role: New Zealand Tax Manager
Setup: Hybrid (Ortigas Pasig) 23 days WFH/Onsite (MonFri but should be amenable to work on weekends during busy days)
Job Description
Liaise with Supervisors or Managers on a regular basis to understand and obtain workflow and delivery timetable and client service expectations.
Perform work and provide related deliverables in accordance with AC Manilas Training Materials/ETs instructions as applied to work requests.
Maintain working knowledge of the AC Manila Training Materials.
Monitor time spent on assigned tasks and manage deadlines.
Adhere to AC Manila policies and procedures.
Contribute to the development of your own and teams technical acumen.
Participate in training and other developmental opportunities where possible.
Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while exercising professional skepticism.
Consistently demonstrate teamwork dynamics by working as a team member: understanding personal and team roles; contribute to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; and proactively seeking guidance clarification and feedback.
Establish effective working relationships directly with clients
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate ability to lead or coordinate and display ownership of projects/initiatives.
Present ideas and suggestions on how to improve work processes.
Assign work based on the teams availability and capacity.
Demonstrate awareness of the teams workload and communicate resource requirements when appropriate.
Coach staff by providing proactive and constructive feedback in a timely manner in order for them to develop and meet their objectives and improve performance.
Qualifications:
a. Bachelors degree in Accounting Commerce and/or Business.
b. At least 5 years relevant work experience in assurance tax accounting and/or analysis work with the last year being in a supervisory role.
c. CPA or CA
Preferred Experience/Skills
Understanding of accounting and business concepts
Some understanding of Australian/New Zealand taxation legislation and regulatory requirements will be advantageous
Good understanding of corporate financial statements.
Demonstrate selfmotivation and a desire to take responsibility for personal growth and development.
Commit to continuous training and proactively learn new processes.
Specific Technical Skills:
Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (in particular Excel and Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
Working knowledge of Accounting Systems or databases (XPA Value Financials Xero Quickbooks Online) will be advantageous.
Ability to communicate (i.e. read write speak) with businesslevel fluency in English.
Other capabilities Strong ability in working and effectively communicating with team members at all levels including senior management.
Comfortable communicating with the territories.
Demonstrates flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while exercising professional skepticism.
Ability to coach subordinates in the development of their career and skills
Be a lateral thinker and comfortable in leading and guiding team members as necessary.
Ability to provide training technical coaching and support to other team members.
Can work independently with minimal/no supervision.
