Job Description
We are excited to invite applications for a dedicated and proficient Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for theschool year. This role serving as a Hearing Itinerant will span multiple schools within our district ensuring students who are deaf or hard of hearing receive the essential support and specialized instruction they need.
Key responsibilities include:
- Adapting and modifying curriculum materials
- Conducting assessments to monitor progress
- Delivering direct instruction tailored to each students needs
- Providing training and resources to staff to enhance student support
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Facilitating effective communication among students teachers and families
Requirements
- Experience working with K12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- A Bachelor s or Master s degree in Deaf Education Special Education or a related field
- A valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Collaboration is at the heart of this role requiring close partnership with general education teachers administrators and families to secure the necessary accommodations and modifications for students academic and social achievements.
