Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our Financial Modelling team in the Infrastructure Advisory division with a strong focus on renewable energy technologies as well as other infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for impactdriven investments a strong background in financial modelling and experience working on infrastructure projects in Africa at various life cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery

Manage a portfolio of financial modelling engagements within SubSahara region from proposals through to scoping development review and delivery. This will include:

o Being the main day to day contact with clients forming longstanding relationships which with help drive repeat business;

o Financial management of projects including financial forecasting billing and debt collection and reporting on their progress to the Director/Partner;

o Ensuring the quality of deliverables to meet internal standards and client requirements and ensuring that best practice modelling is adhered to at all times; and

o Leading coaching and reviewing the work of junior modellers.

Conduct financial model audits and provide training to enhance the modelling skills of our team and clients.

Where required also help to manage modelling support in the context of transaction advisory work and/or valuation work.

Potential to help deliver modelling training courses from time to time.



People and Product Development

Help to develop both our models and our team technically by ensuring that they are properly informed by relevant sector dynamics and a commercial understanding of what underpins the models.

Help to ensure that our models are visually effective and transparent to use.

Find solutions for clients to ensure we are meeting their needs and use this to help inform our business development strategy.

Build broader market relationships and knowledge that will help to ensure that our models are up to date and informed by the latest market developments; help to build the culture of the team so that junior team members also become used to doing this.

Help to promote a general culture of learning and development across the team from one job to the next.

Contribute to the dissemination of knowledge on financial modelling within the firm and the broader community.


Business Development and Broader Team Engagement

  • Active member of the wider team participating in general business development and marketing activities and coordinating with other service lines across Numeris.
  • Participate in thought leadership including public webinars and other marketing efforts.
  • Client development: broaden client relationships to help drive opportunities across other service lines.
  • Build your personal network across the sector.


Requirements

Candidate profile:

  • Highly analytical organized and logical professional with attention to detail.
  • Keen interest in renewable energy infrastructure and investment in Africa.
  • Ideal candidate will have had significant experience (at least 45 years) on financial modelling preferably from within big 4 accounting firms or boutique financial modelling outfit with exposure to renewable energy projects or broader infrastructure projects considered beneficial.
  • Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills are required and an advanced user of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Additional language skills are desirable (in particular French Kiswahili or other African languages).
  • Strong academic background in accounting finance or economics.
  • Preference for a qualified accountant and/or CFA charterholder/candidate and/or MBA.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to working in a fastpaced entrepreneurial environment where things are not properly structured yet.


Terms of Appointment:

This appointment will be on a fulltime permanent basis.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field with project management, monitoring and evaluation experience. Coding expertise and experience in Experience in Operations, M&E or Data analysis preferred. Acute understanding of resource allocation. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent communicator both orally and written. Detail-oriented, diligent, and proactive. Understand the challenges of working in a foreign market.
