Job Description

POSITION: Maintenance Manager

REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

JOB SUMMARY & KEY OBJECTIVES
Provide planning leadership and direction for Maintenance programs and systems at Pecan Deluxe Candy Company (PDCC) facilities. Partner with the PDCC Management Team to provide creative solutions and recommendations to improve and maintain facility equipment and processes. Create a SafetyFirst culture in every facet of manufacturing. Engage with employees and managers especially in maintenance in order to instill the value of food safety and quality in the business. This is a handson position.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• The Maintenance Manager is a leader within Pecan Deluxe and externally with customers and regulatory agencies.
• This position has primary responsibility for developing and implementing maintenance policies and procedures; and ensuring all maintenance activities are in compliance with regulatory agencies and industry best practices.
• The Maintenance Manager provides team leadership directly to the Maintenance team members (exempt and/or nonexempt) and indirectly to others in Operations R&D and Quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all areas of a facility.
• Work with the Maintenance Planner to schedule and synchronize all maintenance projects weekly and daily work plans with other departments.
• Keep records of all the daytoday maintenance and service activities performed in the facility.
• Contract and oversee all maintenance workers and activities within the facilities.
• Drive continuous improvement in the area of maintenance by setting goals and identifying key performance indicators in this area of the business.
• Work with FSQA and R&D to assure the effective investigation of all maintenance related complaints using root cause analysis corrective actions and preventive measures; respond to complaints in the required timeframe analyzing complaint trends.
• Support new food development and implementation strategies for customers and work with R&D and FSQA to define and improve processing for PDCC products.
• Maintain awareness of industry advances and technologies to assure customers have the benefit of the latest the industry has to offer with regards manufacturing processes and design of equipment.
• Ensure the efficient and effective procurement of maintenance spare parts inventory and new equipment.
• Make recommendations and recruit maintenance team members.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
• High School degree diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college.
• Minimum of 23 years’ experience as a maintenance manager with a background in manufacturing food industry.
• Must have extensive PLC programming experience up to and including diagnosis of existing programs as well as design and implementation of new programs and projects.
• Detailed knowledge of PLC automation software and coding languages.
• Must be proficient in CAD and AutoCAD software.
• Excellent leadership internal and customer communication negotiation and team building skills
• Able to work unsupervised and manage independently
• Ability to function and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficient in computers including spreadsheets statistical programs and ERP applications
• Strong statistical analysis interpretation and reporting skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree in engineering administration maintenance or personnel management or equivalent from a certified college.
• Electrical Mechanical or ElectroMechanical Engineering experience preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma training or black belt certification is a plus
