  The company provides the No.1 ebook intermediary service in Japan with a market share of over 2200 publishers and over 150 ebookstores. In order to widely distribute digital content such as books and comics domestically and internationally we have mainly developed BtoB ebook intermediary systems that register digital content received from publishers and distribute it to ebookstores. The ebook market in Japan mainly comics will reach approximately 350 billion yen in 2019 and it is a market with great potential that continues to grow.

  Our ebook intermediary system continues to be designed and developed based on the early ebook distribution business and in order to support the even greater growth of the ebook market in the future it will be essential to update the system to be able to withstand this growth. In order to contribute to the further development of the ebook market in the future it has decided to revamp its ebook distribution system.

  To accelerate this project we are looking for engineers to join our development team.

  You will be responsible for various development tasks aimed at improving and adding functionalities to systems that support ebook distribution. Your role will encompass a wide spectrum of development tasks ranging from requirements analysis and specification consideration to development release and operations.

  Specific responsibilities include:

  Replacement Project for Ebook Distribution Platform Concurrently with the operation of the ebook distribution platform a replacement development is underway to refresh the architecture and development languages. As a development member of a team comprising 5 to 6 individuals you will be involved in various tasks including aligning requirements with project managers and business departments (system users) maintenance development and system performance tuning.

  Key Development Areas:

  • Replacement development shifting the main language from PHP to Go/TypeScript
  • Backend development using GoGin
  • Frontend development using TypeScriptReactNext.js
  • UI replacement based on MaterialUI
  • Development of new functionalities to adapt to changes in the ebook distribution business model
  • Evaluation and construction of cloud architecture using AWS

  Maintenance and Development of Ebook Distribution Platform You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality and convenience of the current operational ebook distribution platform. As a development member for additional system development projects you will handle tasks involving aligning requirements with project managers and business departments (system users) maintenance development and system performance tuning.

  Key Development Areas:

  • Additional feature development using PHP
  • Evaluation and construction of cloud architecture using AWS
  • Performance improvements for the system (performance tuning)
  • Proposal and implementation of technical debt resolution

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in web application development (approximately 3 years or more)
  • Able to develop by yourself.

Annual Salary: 4.5M 6M

Hours:

Basic working hours 10:00 19:00 (standard working hours: 8 hours)

Flexible working hours Beginning: 5:00 10:00 End of workday: 15:00 22:00

Core time 10:00 15:00 However due to clients circumstances you may be asked to come to work even during flexible hours when necessary. *As a measure to prevent the spread of corona infection core hours are tentatively set at 11:0015:00.

Overtime for the engineering organization averages less than 15 hours per month.
