About the Opportunity: FedTec is looking for a highly motivated and selfstarting Microsoft Office Development Support Technician to support the Daniel K. Inouye AsiaPacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS) with the development maintenance and enhancement of their Microsoft Office 2016 and O365 applications.

Position: Microsoft Office Development Support Technician

Work Location: Honolulu HI 96815

Client: Daniel K. Inouye AsiaPacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS)

Security: Must be able to pass National Agency Check Local Agency Check and Local Credit Check (NACLC DNACI/NACI)

Certifications: Must Have Verifiable Security CE Certification

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in the development maintenance and enhancement of Microsoft Office 2016 and O365 applications with experiences in both desktop applications and sever/client for APCSS users to maximize the utilization of Microsoft Office applications and develop proficient workflow practices.
  • Develop & integrate existing Excel Spreadsheets and Access Databases utilizing macros VBA Power Automate PowerBI and other complex data extraction methods to optimize usage understanding data mining capabilities to assist in reporting and analysis as well as ease of use for users
  • Optimize existing Excel workbooks and Databases by removing excess formatting getting rid of s and recovering data from crashes
  • Utilize applications such as PowerBI and Power Automate to automate workflows and increase workflow efficiencies
  • Upsize Access databases to SQL Server
  • Improve overall interface of Microsoft Office applications and connections into Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010/2013
  • Test and document all applications after each program upgrade or customization is complete
  • Provide Training to relevant users on Office Applications and SharePoint
  • Maintain inventory of accountable property via DPAS (Defense Property Accountability System)

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: BA in Information Technology or related discipline
  • Knowledge and Experience:
    • Knowledge and experience of IT standards principles concepts methods policies and approach for IT as well as a working knowledge of a variety of applications including but not limited to: all MS Office products such as Excel Access Forms Visio Visual Studio Teams Power Automate and PowerBI. Additional applications such as Adobe products SnagIt Snap Survey Smart Board IBM Lotus Forms Viewer etc.
    • Working knowledge of components protocols and the IT equipment and software in order to study user problems and identify/develop and implement the best methods procedures and processes to resolve such problems and reduce/minimize disruptions in critical user business activities
    • Working knowledge of IT resources and infrastructure such as Microsoft Domain Controller File Servers Exchange Servers SolarWinds & DPAS SharePoint Servers Database Servers Domain Name Services Servers etc. and hardware such as Dell Optiplex Desktop Computers and Dell Latitude and HP Surface Pros.
    • Knowledge of and experience in the use of oral and written communication methods and techniques to accomplish continuing coordination with Center Customers and conduct/participate in IT training.
    • Knowledge of prevailing practices in data automation to propose alternative approaches for resolving problems with computer systems peripherals networks and/or telecommunication equipment.
  • Specialized Experience:
    • Customizing Excel models
    • Building sophisticated and userfriendly Excel templates for modeling and data entry.
    • Writing professional VBA code to automate tasks within our projects.
    • Salvaging problematic workbooks
    • Enabling Spreadsheet models to communicate with database applications
    • Developing Excel addins
    • Developing and/or refining Database systems customizing Access applications.
    • Upsizing Access databases to SQL Server.
    • Programming MS Office applications for better interface with possible connections into MS Office SharePoint Server 2010/2013.
    • Develop fillable forms
    • Develop paperless workflow efforts
