Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Google BigQuery SQL / Data Engineer to join our team. As a Google BigQuery SQL / Data Engineer you will be responsible for optimizing data retrieval analysis and reporting processes using Google BigQuery. Your expertise will be crucial in designing efficient data models writing complex queries and ensuring optimal performance across our data infrastructure. You will also work closely with crossfunctional teams to deliver datadriven insights and support datarelated projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable data models and schemas in Google BigQuery.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction transformation and analysis.
- Identify and resolve query performance bottlenecks.
- Implement data pipelines to automate data collection processing and storage.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand data requirements and provide datadriven insights.
- Ensure data integrity and quality control through validation and testing processes.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in Google BigQuery SQL and data engineering.
- Document data processes models and queries for transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Support datarelated projects and initiatives providing technical expertise and guidance.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Google BigQuery SQL Expert or Data Engineer.
- Indepth knowledge of Google BigQuery including partitioning table clustering and data storage concepts.
- Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries with a solid understanding of query execution plans.
- Familiarity with data modeling schema design and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with data validation techniques data profiling and quality control processes.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java is a plus.
- Experience with data pipeline tools and frameworks (e.g. Apache Beam Dataflow).
- Excellent problemsolving skills and strong analytical thinking.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other data engineering tools and platforms (e.g. Apache Airflow Kafka).
- Certifications in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or related technologies.
- Familiarity with BI tools (e.g. Tableau Looker) and data visualization techniques.
- Experience in a fastpaced agile development environment.
