On behalf of a client we are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor.
Located in Scandinavia.
Work is on rotation with Flights and accommodation included.
The Health & Safety Advisor will collaborate with site and management personnel to ensure adherence to all company policies processes and health and safety legislation across all sites.
Person Specification:
- Level 7 Degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Health & Safety field preferably within the construction sector.
- Proficiency in computer skills including Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with Microsoft Project is a plus.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Strong team player.
- Current drivers license.
Key Functions & Results Areas:
- Develop and conduct audits toolbox talks and other training activities.
- Develop maintain and ensure implementation of an internal Safety Management System.
- Ensure compliance and improvement of accreditation SafeTCert.
- Assist with the implementation of employee wellness and mental health programs and initiatives.
- Manage all plant & equipment ensuring certification is up to date and the plant & equipment register is regularly updated.
- Monitor legislative updates ensuring necessary changes are applied promptly.
- Present health and safety progress updates to Company Directors daily as sites are audited.
- Carry out Health and Safety audits as required.
- Manage PPE and ensure all sites/personnel are equipped with necessary PPE. Maintain a register to record issued PPE.
- Regularly review and update Risk Assessments and Safe Operating Procedures.
- Conduct Safety Induction Training for all employees and subcontractors as required maintaining documentary evidence.
- Investigate record and report accidents incidents and nearmisses promptly implementing corrective actions without delay.
- Identify new and ongoing safetyrelated training requirements or shortfalls and recommend training for personnel.
- Champion the change of attitude and behaviour of site operatives foremen managers and subcontractors by communicating and collaborating with them in an engaging thoughtprovoking and innovative manner.
- Manage the yard/stores area ensuring it is maintained in a safe tidy and organised manner with tasks delegated to the stores manager.
- Attend regular Health and Safety Meetings.
