Job Description
Required Tasks to be performed:
- Data Cleanup including analysis and resolution of system generated data warnings and conflicts.
- Research analyze and resolved GIS and nonGIS data conflicts in response to the LITS data conflicts and warnings.
- Conduct GIS and nonGIS data cleanup activities as assigned by DEP LITS staff.
- Will be responsible for performing research on issues related to public land ownership and less than fee interests.
- Perform review of property appraiser data and mapping to solve issues related to public land ownership.
- Perform GIS analysis of spatial data to verify accuracy of mapping and to gather additional polygon specific data.
- Research on available digital and hardcopy mapping and land title across multiple state agencies and every Florida county.
- Perform research of DEP internal systems data and mapping.
- Perform public records research of vesting deeds.
- Review of Water Management District and other agency GIS Data.
- Develop and continually assess for improvement and communications processes.
- Assisting in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Systems or other Information Technology major or equivalent work experience.
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Experience with land survey and cadastral GIS mapping.
- Experience with cadastral GIS mapping applications.
- Prior experience with projects related to cadastral mapping property tax records and/or land ownership.
- Prior experience working with geospatial data.
- Ability to be creative to use sound judgment and to display foresight to identify potential problems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
- Ability to solve problems and manage issues effectively proactively and aggressively.
- Strong communications skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and in writing with both technical and nontechnical staff and clients.
