Job Title: SRE Service Engineer

Location: 100% Remote

Rate: $ 60 80/hr

Job Description:

The SRE Service Engineer under the direction of the I&O SRE & Technical Process Manager is responsible for enhancing uptime availability and reliability through automation and systems evolution. This role involves collaboration with peers in various departments to ensure robust operational capabilities aligned with product evolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure system uptime and availability to meet SLAs SLOs and SLIs.
• Define and adapt metrics SLIs and SLOs.
• Split time between handson operational activities and improving reliability performance and efficiency.
• Lead postmortem processes and promote a blameless review culture.
• Influence operations and release processes to meet SLO targets.
• Collaborate with security teams on patching vulnerability management and compliance.
• Define and implement release strategies and guidelines.
• Provide technical validation for new demands.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation and chaos engineering.
• Maintain and review the technology solutions catalog.
• Offer early engagement consulting on architectures and design choices.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Preferred AWS Solution Architect certification or equivalent.
• Experience in DevOps teams focusing on availability and reliability.
• Expertise in cloud solutions scalability and resource management.
• Proficient with automation tools (e.g. Terraform Ansible) scripting (e.g. Bash Python) CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins GitHub Actions) and source control (e.g. Git).
• Strong knowledge of IaaS services on cloud providers (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with network and security technologies virtualization and containerization.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
