• Two years of experience working within a physical/chemical laboratory environment. Handson experience with mechanical & chemical sample prep of microelectronics and dual beam sample analysis including EDS; STEM/TEM; optical measurements.
• Additional useful skills: Microscopy; XRay imaging; TEM lamella prep; Wet Chemistry; Photography; Additive Manufacturing; Laser ablation; Reactive Ion Etching; KnightsAvalon; KnightsSysNav; discipline with documentation and report writing. Experience and knowledge of semiconductor design and failure analysis techniques. Creativity with developing sample prep techniques on unique package formats welcomed.

Required Education:.

* Bachelors Degree in Science Electrical Engineering or related field.

Job Description:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Applies knowledge of failure analysis (e.g. physical/electrical failure analysis etc.) to determine the cause of failure by assisting in the evaluation of electrical and mechanical characteristics of systems and/or integrated circuits components and subcomponents.

Administers nondestructive testing on devices using imaging tools (e.g. Xray CSAM) and/or optical inspections.

Performs failure analyses on straightforward issues (e.g. level 1) following clearly defined procedures.

Performs physical failure analyses by examining individual layers of silicon to reveal evidence of defect; addresses lowrisk systematic issues that allow analyses to be tried and tested on multiple devices.

Conducts electrical fault isolation analyses to localize hot spots and isolate location of defect.

Assists in the analyses and documentation of failure reports and identification and resolution of root causes of issues.

Acts as the case owner for straightforward defects and handles all issues relevant to the case.
