Rail Arborist

We have an exciting opportunity for an arborist position to join our team in South Wales working on a number of rail vegetation management projects across the region. PTS Preferred minimum of 2 years industry experience.

This role primarily involves the safe removal and clearance of vegetation and trees around rail lines so experience of working within rail is ideal but not essential however you must be a qualified Arborist as a minimum.

Rare overnight stays may be required dependent on workload and job locations.

The person;

You will need to be a confident climber with bags of motivation and high standards. Previous experience in a similar role on railways is desirable but not essential as long as you have a background in Arb. Due to the environment and nature of the work you must be aware of strict Health & Safety measures and adhere to these at all times.

• Felling Small trees up to 380mm
• Felling and Processing Medium Trees Over 380mm and up to 760mm
• Felling and Processing Large Trees Over 760mm
• Individual Windblown Trees
• Dealing with Interwoven Stems and Part Blown Trees
• Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue
• Using a chainsaw from a rope and harness
• Aerial Tree Pruning
• Aerial Tree Rigging
• Arboricultural Ground Worker
• Use of a Chainsaw from a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP)
• Powered Pole Pruner Maintenance and Operation
• Emergency tree work operations
• Assisted Felling
• Manually fed woodchipper operations
• PTS
• First Aid
