This job is demanding and will test the candidates ability to perform their tasks under pressure. The most suitable candidate will operate and fulfill the job requirements precisely and accurately while meeting the highest level of professional standards. Considering the current regulatory climate the candidate will face constant scrutiny in relation to compliance and will have to be proactive to fulfill these requirements while performing his tasks. It is essential for the candidate performs their daily work within guidelines and with accuracy as any errors may prove costly.

This is a first line of defense role:

• Reporting to the European Head of T&FM work with the wider CT&FM team to ensure the Banks Treasury activities are managed efficiently and within internal and external guidelines.
• Responsible for the management of the Marketable Securities portfolio and IRS hedges.
• Explore trading opportunities in Interest rates Fixed income FX and conducting bond repo.
• To discuss Treasury activities and pricing of transactions to internal departments and the banks customers.
• Assisting CT in managing the HQLA portfolio ensuring the correct holdings are maintained and profitability is maximized.
• To assist in providing support and mentoring to junior staff where required.

What You Will Be Doing:

Legal and Regulatory

• Adhere to all relevant internal/external regulations guidelines policies and procedures.
• To ensure dealing is within risk limits set in the Trading & Investment Limits document and in their individual Dealer Mandate.
• To ensure dealing is within approved country and counterparty credit risk exposure limits.
• To comply with FCA guidelines regarding daily market practices and the Code of Conduct (FCA handbook COCON rules).
• To adhere to the FX and Money Markets codes.

Performance

• Working with the team to assist in the achievement of the departmental budget.
• Identify articulate and instigate transactions to enhance bond portfolio interest income and FX revenues.
• Assist the wider team on advising and implementation of interest rate hedging and other derivatives.
• Strive towards achieving/exceeding budgeted income targets for the Financial Markets function.
• Liaise with Group Head of Marketable Securities to discuss investment strategy and exploration of investment transactions.
• Deal using the Refinitiv dealing conversation platform and ensure that transactions have been captured correctly.
• Show competence in using the internal systems used by Treasury such as Kondor and CMS and external platforms such as FXALL and 360T.
• Take responsibility for review of FM documentation such as ISDA CSAs GMRAs and MiFID related reporting agreements.
• Work with colleagues in assessing liquidity requirements and conducting required REPO arrangements.
• Monitor market information and prices from systems such as Eikon and Bloomberg to expand financial market knowledge and impart information to the wider team and business colleagues.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with the other Bank ABC Group. Treasury units such as Trading Desk and FM Sales.
• Maintain a strong professional presence when speaking to banks and customers.
• Monitor the daily DMR and report on any unusual divergence in Financial Markets income.
• Provide assistance in completing Management presentations and spreadsheets.
• Liaise with internal control with Kondor and system issues.
• Be an active participant in discussions concerning investment and funding strategies for the bank.

Marketing and Development

• Completion of internal and external training workshops and seminars as required.
• Continue to improve knowledge of the products and instruments involved in Financial Market activities.

Communication

• Develop and maintain a close working relationship with all other Treasury staff.
• To develop a good level of communication with other internal and external stakeholders.
• To report any limit excesses or issues immediately to the European Head of T&FM.

Candidate Specification:

Good understanding/knowledge of the financial markets.
Good knowledge of Treasury products.
A sound knowledge of mathematics and economics.
Good knowledge of Word Excel and PowerPoint.
It is highly desirable the candidate has aUniversity degree or aminimum of A levels or equivalent but not essential.
It is highly desirable the applicant has10 years of Banking experience with 5 years in a Treasury environment.
Must work efficiently and under pressure within a fast paced environment.
Adept at managing multiple diverse tasks simultaneously.
Effective team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be willing to be flexible on time management and working hours.
