### Job Description: Lead Backend Engineer
**Position:** Lead Backend Engineer
**Experience Level:** 8 years
**Location:** Hybrid Oulu Finland EU
**Type:** FullTime
**About the Role:**
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Backend Engineer to join our innovative and dynamic team. As a Lead Backend Engineer you will oversee the development and maintenance of serverside logic ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend. You will also play a key role in integrating the frontend elements built by your coworkers into the application. This is a leadership position where you will guide a team of developers work closely with product managers and collaborate with crossfunctional teams to deliver cuttingedge solutions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers providing guidance and support for their technical and professional development.
Design develop and maintain robust scalable and secure backend systems and APIs.
Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate userfacing elements with serverside logic.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Implement data storage solutions and ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for new and existing systems.
Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and resolve issues.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation.
**Knowledge Skills and Abilities:**
**Education:** Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field. A master s degree is a plus.
**Experience:** 8 years of experience in backend development with a solid understanding of fullstack development.
**Technical Proficiency:**
Strong proficiency in backend languages such as Java Python Ruby Node.js or PHP.
Experience with frontend technologies like HTML CSS JavaScript and frameworks like React Angular or Vue.js.
Expertise in building and maintaining RESTful APIs and web services.
Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL NoSQL PostgreSQL MongoDB and caching solutions like Redis or Memcached.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
Familiarity with version control systems especially Git.
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
**Skills:**
Strong problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
Proven leadership abilities and experience managing or mentoring a team.
Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
A proactive approach to identifying issues and proposing solutions.
Experience with agile development methodologies.
