Position Overview:
The role focuses on supporting injection molding operations minimizing scrap and setup times optimizing cycle times and conducting validations related to materials presses and molds with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities: - Leading all engineering activities related to injection molding.
- Establishing a robust process window using Scientific Molding techniques and Design for Experiments (DOEs).
- Troubleshooting molding processes to reduce production defects.
- Driving process improvement and optimization initiatives.
- Identifying and implementing costsaving opportunities.
- Performing process and mold qualifications and validations.
- Evaluating and selecting engineered materials and executing material consolidation projects.
- Implementing safety productivity and yield improvements.
- Developing and maintaining process documentation.
- Participating in New Product Introduction projects.
- Developing SMED processes and training setup operators.
- Using structured project management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Acting as a liaison between Molding Tooling R&D and Quality Engineering teams.
Skills Required: - Bachelors degree in Engineering (Chemical or Plastics Engineering preferred).
- Minimum 4 years of injection molding experience in medical devices or clean room environments.
- Excellent knowledge of injection molding presses (hydraulic and electric) molds mold design and related equipment.
- Experience with common molding grade plastics (e.g. Polypropylene Polycarbonate ABS Nylon).
- Ability to train and develop process technicians.
- Knowledge of mold maintenance and repairs.
- Experience with validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Experience in extrusion (PVC HDPE PU) is advantageous.
