We're a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka and looking for a Plant Engineer for an MNC based in Colombo (Onsite). The Plant Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance optimization and efficiency of plant operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a handson approach to problemsolving and a strong background in engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Reliability: Ensure the continuous and efficient operation of plant equipment through regular maintenance and prompt troubleshooting.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations and conducting risk assessments.
- Project Management: Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through to completion including cost estimation scheduling and coordination with various stakeholders.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to plant operations including the development of engineering solutions to operational problems.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities equipment performance and process changes. Prepare regular reports for senior management.
- Crossfunctional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments including production quality and procurement to ensure alignment on operational goals and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a plant or manufacturing engineering role in the FMCG industry is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is advantageous.
- Problemsolving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of diagnosing complex technical issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead crossfunctional projects.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
