Job Title: Aveva PI Application Analyst
Location: Charlotte NC (Preferred); Open to Remote Candidates (Onsite 2 days/week for local candidates)
Employment Type: W2 Only
Job Description

The Application Analyst will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the PI Delivery & Support Team. This team is responsible for creating implementing and supporting IT application enhancements integrations and new data products for the Aveva PI software suite previously known as OSI PI. The software suite is used for collecting storing delivering analyzing and visualizing operational data for various powergenerating facilities transmission and distribution assets and smart grid devices. The role ensures application health across approximately 250 servers over 900 interfaces and more than 8 million data tags which support critical business operations and planning efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daytoday production support for applications infrastructure and enduser client tools (e.g. Datalink ProcessBook and PI Vision).
  • Optimize performance and monitor system health to meet compliance and availability targets.
  • Install configure and monitor PI system servers application operating systems interfaces and client tools on workstations.
  • Create monitor and maintain PI system tags.
  • Support system security deploy patches perform file backups system restorations and manage passwords.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive techniques.
  • Develop and maintain technical support documentation and procedures.
  • Support operating system upgrades and changes to support tools through testing.
  • Collaborate with vendors and IT entities to troubleshoot and resolve issues ensuring proper documentation and escalation.
  • Analyze business processes gather information interpret requirements develop specifications and implement process workflows.
  • Participate in project teams to deliver new functionality and support corporate initiatives.
  • Lead discussions and collaborate with Enterprise Architects IT Operations Telecom and various business units.
  • Adhere to IT processes change management processes and human performance practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide enduser support and training.
  • Participate in a periodic 24/7 oncall rotation (approximately every 8 weeks).
Basic/Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in computer science information technology engineering or related discipline; or five years of related business work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Five or more years of experience with Aveva PI System servers interfaces and user tools.
  • Five or more years of experience as a system administrator of Aveva PI System.
  • Five or more years of experience with PI System tag creation monitoring and maintenance.
  • Five or more years of experience with performance optimization and system health monitoring for Aveva PI System.
  • Three or more years of experience with PI Data Archive PI Asset Framework PI Asset Analytics PI Event Frames PI Vision and PI Notifications.
  • Experience in system security patch deployment and Windows system administration ().
  • Experience with Active Directory Security and Microsoft .NET application development.
  • Knowledge of application development life cycles networks firewalls and related hardware/software.
  • Proven leadership in completing complex deliverables and resolving technical issues.
  • Ability to multitask selfstart and work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience collaborating with external vendors and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of IT Solution Delivery LifeCycle processes and best practices.
  • Strong documentation organizational and customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Passion for quality and excellence adaptability and quick learning ability.
  • Ability to pass NERC background checks and provide periodic 24x7 oncall support.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Python and PowerShell Scripting.
  • Local candidates to Charlotte NC are preferred but remote candidates will be considered.
  • Local candidates must be onsite 2 days a week.
  • 24/7 oncall rotation is approximately every 8 weeks with minimal afterhours tickets.
