Job Title: Apptad Business Intelligence Specialist

Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Supports Clients wideranging business information requirements implementing and supporting business intelligence software solutions
- Develops and supports customized query applications which analyze key business data
- Develops and supports guided analysis and drilldown functionality routine scheduling and notification of report generation and effective implementation of opportunity and keytrend alerts.
- Provides Clients with approach options and tools for managing businessrelated data in a manner that assists in quantitative analysis of progress and the relationship between operational actions and their effect on business objectives.
General Skills:
- Experience with analyzing data in source systems to identify data cleanliness issues (e.g. missing values duplicate meanings and invalid data)
- Experience with developing feedback processes to fix corrupt data in the source systems
- Experience with developing data extraction transformation and load programs (daily and initial load) functionality on a widerange of data repositories (relational and multi dimensional data stores)
- Experience with developing implementing and maintaining schedule/dependency logic for Extract Transform Load (ETL) scripts
- Experience with developing monitoring and error notification processes to ensure data is updated as designed
- Experience with developing automation extraction cleansing and load scripts
- Experience generating research models and reports (scheduled and adhoc)
- Proven troubleshooting and analytical experience
- Experience in process decomposition/mapping and business process reengineering and complex data models using UML.
- Experience in the use of development tools and business reengineering software
- Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. business logical and physical models) based on Enterprise Application Processes and Modeling methodology and guidelines
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in developing data analysis applications
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles concepts policies and practices
- Ability to provide expert advice in developing and integrating process and information models to enable identifying and eliminating redundant business processes
- Experience with developing monitoring and error notification processes to ensure data is updated as designed
- Hands on experience working with stakeholders to develop and document interface specifications design between Business Intelligence solutions and external applications
- Extensive experience with conceptual logical and physical data modelling tools like Power Designer and Visio.
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards

- Data and Statistics:
- Knowledge of data processing/warehousing and statistical analysis techniques
- Knowledge of theories practices and techniques of economic mathematical and statistical theory/analysis research methods and procedures to conduct analytical studies and surveys
Tools:
- Experience with a wide range of methods tools and techniques for business analysis such as but not limited to business functional modeling business event modeling business process mapping
- Demonstrated understanding of software development methodology and life cycle Working Experience with data analysis tools Experience and knowledge working with data in some or all of these technologies: Excel SQL R Python and/or other scripting languages
- Experience working with business intelligence tools such as Power BI Tableau and/or Cognos for both onpremises and cloud solutions where applicable
- Experience working with Oracle and MSSQL databases
- Experience with various system testing strategies.
- Extensive experience with source control and environment management
- Demonstrated understanding of BA life cycle. This includes awareness of emerging I&IT trends and technologies (Microsoft Azure/DevOps). Build automation experience is an asset

Research and Analysis:
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in data analytics to recommend research evaluation and data management tools/ techniques
- Demonstrated experience with developing business strategies business process reengineering
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines policies practices and protocols to ensure appropriate reporting and protection of privacy and security of personal information
- Experience developing strategic and operational frameworks to help ministry partners and internal projects make
- Knowledge of metrics development methodologies for measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of solutions
Solution Delivery:
- Technical knowledge to identify and evaluate information technology options and to conduct complex systems analysis and design for the development of new systems or systems modifications
- Experience with software development lifecycles and applying them to the development of data analytic products
- Experience in evaluating and analyzing existing web applications and business intelligence tools for the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliance
- Conduct and provide technical expertise in complex systems analysis and design coordinate development of all systems documentation and develop and oversee testing and implementation of systems and applications
