Job Description

Mobile Health Team Inc. a staffing agency has openings for a CT/Radiologic Technologist. We are looking for someone with a passion for people.

Location: Klawock AK 99925

Assignment Start Date: 5/23/2024

13 weeks Varied 10hour shift 40hrs guaranteed weekly

The Estimated Weekly Total is based on working the listed number of hours per week and includes available stipend amounts. Please contact a recruiter for full details.

Perform radiographic exams including Computed Tomography (CT) work independently in performing these modalities. Collaborate with radiologists providers and other technologists to improve patient care. Provides call services on a rotational basis. Apply previous computer experience to new applications for imaging and record keeping. May be required to travel to provide services at clinics throughout the Consortium. Understand that inadequate communication with the patient provider and radiologist can adversely affect patient health. Creatively works with other SEARHC staff to solve problems.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs diagnostic CT exams of human anatomy. Places IVs for contrast injections. Follows protocols set by the radiologist. Performs daily QA/QC on CT equipment. Receives patients explains procedures and creates a safe environment for the patient through good communication skills. Accurately inputs pertinent medical information into EHR RIS/PACS and other systems as necessary. Is very familiar with power injectors and appropriate use. Understands various types of contrast media and their use.
  • Performs diagnostic xray examinations of human anatomy. Follows standard positions protocols and views prescribed by SEARHC radiologists. Receives patients explains procedures and utilizes standardized techniques settings and positions to accomplish acceptable results.
  • Office Duties. Performs office jobs including but not limited to: answering phones scheduling patients exams printing reports retrieving charts researching problems ordering supplies and helping radiologists and providers.
  • Responsible for QA and QC for SEARHC imaging modalities. Documents: CTDI and DLP amount of contrast administered exam performed and other information as required by the Joint Commission standards.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

  • 2 years of radiology technologist experience required
  • 1 year of experience in CT in a hospital setting required
  • Toshiba/Canon CT experience requied
  • Cerner experience preferred
  • Fuji PACS experience preferred

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiography School is required.
  • Must complete annual educational requirements for licenses/certifications in areas where you function i.e. CT dose MRI safety.

Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:

  • Must be American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certified
  • CT certification required
  • Must have ACLS BLS/BCLS PALS NRP

EMR System: Cerner experience preferred

Shift: 8 days on 6 days off 4x10s night call required during shift days

COVID Requirements: Must have proof of FLU and COVID19 vaccinations(including boosters). No exemptions.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology used in standard radiographic CT and Mammography exams
  • Extensive knowledge of radiation physics and protection (ALARA)
  • Extensive understanding and knowledge of CT (computed tomography) and Mammography modalities
  • Considerable knowledge of computed and digital imaging and multiple computer systems including the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and teleradiology
  • Skilled at independently performing radiographic CT and Mammography exams
  • Skilled in oral and written communications
  • Skilled in organizing and cleaning work areas and maintaining equipment in serviceable condition
  • Skilled at utilizing the PACS for teleradiology
  • Able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with supervisors radiologists providers patients computer technologists and SEARHC staff
  • Able to perform multiple tasks in a small department
  • Able to learn new imaging exams as required by radiologists or providers
  • Able to learn new equipment and systems for imaging and hospital procedures
