Qualifications/Competencies
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
- Preferred: Additional certifications or licenses relevant to the role.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in software development.
- At least 2 years of experience with SQL/SQL Server technologies.
- At least 2 years of experience with J2EE/Java.
- Some experience with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics New Relic and Splunk.
- Preferred: Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter or BillingCenter development (Gosu/configuration/Integration).
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in writing configurable maintainable and testable code in a collaborative environment.
- Proven troubleshooting principles methodologies and issue resolution techniques.
- Ability to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and enduser procedures.
- Awareness of technology trends related to software applications.
- Experience in building and maintaining databases for query and problem tracking.
- Good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives.
Skills:
- Expertise in J2EE/Java foundational frameworks design patterns and programming.
- Familiarity with Guidewire Policy and Billing Center framework and GOSU language.
- Proficiency in ANSI SQL.
- Basic Unix/Linux commands for log monitoring.
- Experience with ServiceNow for incident management.
- Proficiency in Jira for defect management.
- Familiarity with IBM Tivoli for job/batch management.
- Experience with AppDynamics for application performance monitoring.
- Proficiency in Splunk for machinegenerated data monitoring.
