Job Overview
The Data Entry Specialist will play a crucial role in accurately inputting financial data into our accounting software (Tally) to support financial reporting management information systems (MIS) and other business operations. Reporting to the CA the Data Entry Specialist will be responsible for maintaining data integrity and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
Responsibilities and Duties - Data entry: Input financial transactions including sales purchases expenses and other accounting entries into Tally accurately and efficiently. Ensure all data is entered in accordance with established accounting principles and company policies.
- Data verification: Review source documents such as invoices receipts and bank statements to verify the accuracy and completeness of data before entry. Identify and correct any discrepancies or errors in financial records promptly.
- Data maintenance: Maintain organized and uptodate records of financial transactions and documents both electronically and in physical format. Ensure data confidentiality and security measures are followed to protect sensitive information.
- Reporting support: Assist the CA in preparing financial reports statements and MIS reports by providing accurate and timely data inputs as required. Collaborate with other team members to meet reporting deadlines and fulfill information requests.
- Software usage: Become familiar with the functionalities of the Tally accounting software and other relevant software tools used for data entry and financial management. Seek training as needed to enhance proficiency and productivity.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
- Proficiency in data entry and typing skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with accounting software preferably Tally and willingness to learn.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and follow instructions.
- Commitment to maintaining data integrity confidentiality and accuracy in financial records.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification; additional training or certification in accounting or data entry is a plus.
