Job Description

Quality Improvement Officer (North)

PERM Full time (35hrs) Salary: Up to 35000

Location: Homebased with National Travel

Job Purpose:

You will support the Quality Improvement Manager by conducting and reporting on a range of quality

improvement activities within your respective region to ensuring the successful implementation of the
Quality Improvement Framework across our provision within our vocational Centres subcontracted
partners and the workplace. You will conduct a range quality review activities to evaluate the effectiveness
and impact of teaching learning and assessment as well as careers information advice and guidance
and the wider apprenticeship curriculum in the South of England and Wales.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Perform deep dive quality activities across our vocational Centres and subcontracted partners to include but not limited to; observation of teaching learning and assessment activities functional skills delivery reviewing health and safety measures safeguarding and onsite/workplace assessment and review activities.
  • Carry out an analysis according to a strategic random and riskbased timetable to ensure regular and comprehensive observation of all delivery elements ensuring consistent quality standards.
  • Produce and submit reports and evidence of activities to support the production of detailed quality improvement reports with action plans/SMART objectives and assign clear accountability for improvement.
  • Lead regional quality improvement activities alongside Delivery Teams to monitor progress against action plans supporting targets / goals.
  • Lead on and support coaching and mentoring activities to ensure that colleagues and apprentices are continuously learning and improving.
  • Identify outstanding teaching learning and assessment practices and work closely with the Quality Improvement Manager and learning and Development Manager to establish a robust and adaptive CPD offer for regional teams.
  • Regularly analyse and report on the compliance and quality of core delivery such as progress reviews exit interviews etc. Utilise data and findings to drive continuous improvement and enhance the employer and apprentice experience.
  • Support the Quality Improvement Manager in identifying and applying key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics from the Apprenticeship Accountability Framework to evaluate risk and performance of Training Centres and subcontractors.
  • Support the moderation and standardisation of observation activities ensuring teaching and assessment activities meet individual apprentice needs.
  • Support targeted highquality training and development to individuals or groups of delivery staff to develop outstanding teaching learning and assessment practice.
  • Assist the Quality Improvement Manager and Curriculum Design Managers in developing quality strategic and evidencebased curriculum initiatives ensuring alignment with industry standards and apprentice needs.
  • Support the Quality Improvement Manager to collate and analyse a range of apprentice and employer feedback and triangulate findings and assess impact of our learning programmes on apprentices and employers.
  • Deputise for the Quality Improvement Manager as required.
  • Keep own knowledge up to date through regular CPD activities.

Person Specification:

Essential Requirements:

  • Degreelevel qualification or relevant industry experience
  • Teaching level qualification and/or assessment qualification at level 4
  • GCSE English AC 94 NVQ level 2 O Level AD or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience in improving teaching learning and assessment in apprenticeships
  • Demonstrable experience of conducting a range of quality improvement activities and quality improvement processes
  • Demonstrable experience of identifying outstanding teaching learning and assessment practices and production of action plans/SMART objectives
  • Working knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety legislation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Driving Licence

Desirable:

  • Level 4 qualifications in either Electrical or Plumbing subjects
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience in a range of direct and subcontracted delivery models

Holiday Entitlement is 25 days holiday per annum. In your first year this will be prorated and will accrue at 2 days in advance per full calendar month of service plus the normal bank holidays.
