Senior Engineer - Non-Associated Gas Production System Modeler

The purpose of the position is to successfully apply appropriate advanced techniques to solve non-routine & complex problems; Make sound analytical and economic decisions and recommendations requiring significant judgment; at this level they are influencing decisions affecting analytical procedures and capital commitment; are technically knowledgeable and can be relied on to complete routine tasks and no-routine tasks independently. The skill sets of the senior engineer are to ensure a robust model being used to identify bottlenecks, optimize production and perform all the modelling work related to the condensate and gas systems (from reservoir to sales points) as well as forecast. They provide developmental scenarios for projects in line with the company’s strategic vision to allow the department a technical basis for planning decisions.

Job Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

To implement and execute the following:

• Review and QC existing NAG model.
• Generating of an integrated robust NAG production system models, primarily wellbore and surface gathering network.
• Regularly update and calibrate the models developed.

Responsible for nodal analysis, integrated production system modelling and optimization studies to identify and recommend opportunities from minimizing subsurface and surface bottlenecks, lift revision and operational enhancements.

• Provide production technology input to maximize asset value by recommending artificial lift technology, tubing completion, stimulation candidate, and flow assurance.
• Support preparation of the quarterly Khuff system capacity calculations.
• Support preparation of the documentation required to be submitted to Bapco Energies on a monthly basis.
• Analyse well performance and design and make recommendations for improvements.
• Support gas reservoir management and reserves analysis.
• Prepare forecasts as needed for various production and decline-related scenarios to determine optimal options.
• Support operations, facilities, and work-over program activities.
• Support gas importation and storage studies.

Qualifications:

Education:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Petroleum or Chemical Engineering

Experience:

Minimum 10 (ten) years of experience in Production Engineering with specific experience in NAG production and system modelling
