GCP Console Admin

Our client is a leading global Financial markets data provider runs several change programs to deliver of highquality software that connects Financial Markets across the globe in a realtime high frequency and lowlatency data management chain. The projects are technically challenging in an environment that is very engaging.

A FinOps Specialist who has detailed knowledge of GCP is required to join a dedicated FinOps team to assist with the management of GCP public cloud estate.
The successful candidate will be working with: Application teams at every stage of the application lifecycle to improve cost /performance ratios; Finance & Procurement teams to help simplify complex billing data received; and Architecture & Design teams where sharing cloud best practice and industrial experience aids key choices and longterm decision making.

Role Purpose:
The Cloud FinOps Specialist is responsible for managing cloud consumption by encouraging efficient cloud use throughout the application lifecycle. The successful candidate will have extensive GCP experience; be familiar with the FinOps foundations framework & know what is required to achieve run maturity; be able to confidently talk with application teams about their designs encouraging good use of cloud agility and unit economics.

Skills required:

Good English language verbal and written communication skills essential.
Ideally the successful candidate would hold the GCP Certification or Hold a degree in Mathematics Finance Computer Science Software Engineering or equivalent.
Great business analysis and data analysis skills.
Experience using a public cloud cost management tool.
Strong analytical skills and a proven record of taking ownership leading data backend analyses and influencing results.
Excellent communication skills and an organized approach to projects and communications.
Strong problemsolving skills and datadriven decision making.
Understand common financial terms key drivers and concepts that Technology Finance Procurement Accounts Payable and Receivable teams use daytoday is essential.
Familiarity with the FinOps Foundation framework and an understanding of what it means to reach run maturity.

Nice To Have:

FinOps Foundation certification.
GCP certifications (e.g. Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer Professional Cloud Architect).
Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure) and FinOps tools.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash) for automation.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Proactive and selfmotivated with a strong sense of ownership.

Responsibilities:

Oversee GCP cloud spend and ensure rate optimization (good understanding of committed usage discounts).
GCP console management (billing invoices Pos etc). Be familiar with FinOps Hub (GCP console) and Cloud Financial Management tools.
Identify possible anomalies and propose action plan for resolution.
Liaise with Cloud Financial Management tool vendor for upcoming features raised support tickets requirements from internal stakeholders etc
Prepare agenda for regular FinOps meetings with cloud service provider take necessary actions following meetings keep track of progress and follow up for resolution.
Identify cost optimization opportunities and schedule dedicated meetings with application teams for discussion and progress review (CFM tool training/navigation included).
Efficiently collaborate with FinOps personas at group level and apply FinOps framework.
Continuously build knowledge and skills to keep up to date with developments in content and tools.
Collect business requirements from customers shaping them into technical specifications present them to the provider and development team communicate on the release of the new features and constantly collect and share feedback.
Use cost management tools to clearly communicate complex analysis of cloud data in simple understandable terms for all levels of the organisation.
Demonstrable eagerness to learn the latest industrial trends and can translate how these services or technologies can improve cost / performance for our business stakeholders.
Use reports to highlight tagging data quality to drive improvements with cost allocation and management reports.
Look after committed usage discounts and extend current scope where possible.
Periodically present documented highlights to management and FinOps personas.
