Location: Colorado

Salary Range: $120130k base

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting Required
  • 24 years of Casino experience
  • 12 years Accounting Leadership experience

About the Role

Responsible for the precise and prompt preparation analysis management and dissemination of casino financial data statements records and reports as directed. Ensures the comprehensive care control and administration of casino assets revenue and funds in alignment with standard operating procedures tribal and state gaming regulations federal and state laws tribal/state compacts governing regulations casino minimum internal controls (MICS) departmental policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a comprehensive General Ledger accounting system to document all casino revenues and expenses. Prepare GL entries review transactions for correct classification and matching principle and keep supporting records and files. Reconcile adjust and manage all balance sheet GL accounts such as prepaid expenses accounts receivable accrued expenses and accounts payable.
  • Compile enter and post recurring and monthly adjusting journal entries. Prepare payments by accruing expenses assigning account numbers requesting disbursements and reconciling accounts.
  • Supervise fixed asset management; track and reconcile monthly additions and deletions to fixed assets. Maintain the fixed assets ledger and prepare related journal entries.
  • Manage and prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and reports including bank reconciliations and journal entries as needed. Review financial reports to ensure accuracy reasonableness and completeness and release reports or direct revisions as necessary. Analyze unusual transactions or unexpected financial results to determine proper accounting treatment.
  • Assist in preparing reviewing and analyzing profit and loss accounts income statement variances cash flow depreciation balance sheets debtor and creditor lists repayment schedules inventory accountability payroll regulatory reports and filings and various daily and monthend processes and special projects.
  • Participate in the monthly and yearend close processes by preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare monthend bookings with supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts. Review and prepare monthly quarterly and annual payroll and sales tax filings and monthly and quarterly NetWin reports for the state.
  • Assist with coordinating and implementing the annual budget process and interim forecasting. Collaborate with the CFO and management in preparing and submitting departmental annual budgets.
  • Oversee the administration and tracking of monthly retail inventory and assist departments in implementing more efficient counting measures.
  • Serve as a backup resource for payroll processing.
  • Supervise the daily audit of revenues promptly.

Candidate Requirements

  • Gaming experience (preferably in finance/accounting)
  • 2 years minimum leadership experience
  • 5 years minimum accounting experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Willingness and ability to step into a CFO role in the near future (23 years)
