Technology Manager - Power Electronics

For our client a technologyfocused company is seeking a talented individual to fill the position of Power Electronics Technology Manager within its corporate research department.

Location: Prague Czech Republic.

About the Project: This role will involve spearheading research and development efforts in the realm of power electronics and drive technology advancement. This encompasses various areas such as power systems topologies converters highpower electronics electric machines and controls electrification of transport energy storage gridconnected converters and alternative power generation and distribution. The department dedicated to research labs is committed to developing innovative technologies for future products. The team works on diverse industrial applications ranging from miniature circuit breakers to power distribution for megawatt scale aircraft drives.

Job Profile: The successful candidate will join a team of experienced engineers and utilize your technical excellence to lead projects and teams towards innovative solutions. Collaborating with colleagues from diverse technology backgrounds and countries you will contribute to making impactful advancements. Key responsibilities include leading technology projects fostering academic and partner collaboration and representing the company in various public forums.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead power electronics research design and development activities.
  
• Drive innovative technology development with a strategic approach.
  
• Ensure timely costeffective and quality delivery of projects.
  
• Mentor and motivate colleagues providing guidance and support.
  
• Contribute to financial objectives by preparing budgets and forecasting requirements.
  
• Present project results to internal and external stakeholders.
  
• Support team collaboration with business divisions universities and customers.

Requirements

Requirements:

• PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  
• Minimum 8 years of experience in power electronics and electronics design (DC/DC converters)
  
• Experience in team leadership is highly beneficial.
  
• Strong understanding of circuit theory particularly in power electronics.
  
• Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools such as Plecs Altium Eagle Spice.
  
• Experience in designing cuttingedge electronics (SiC GaN).
  
• Demonstrated program/project management skills.
  
• Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding skills.
  
• Problemsolving ability using logical methods.
  
• Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally internationally.
  
• Excellent English skills; knowledge of German or Czech is advantageous.
