Job Description
Special Education Teacher SelfContained Classroom
Location: Rochester New Hampshire
Hours Per Week: 37.5 hours per week
Setting: School Based
Start Date: August 2024
Description:
We are currently seeking a fulltime Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic school year. This position offers guaranteed fulltime hours until the end of the school year with the potential for renewal based on performance.
The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing individualized education plans for students with diverse learning needs in a selfcontained classroom setting. We are seeking a candidate who can collaborate effectively with parents caregivers and fellow staff members to develop comprehensive educational plans that address students unique needs and challenges. Additionally the Special Education Teacher will be required to attend professional development sessions provided by the school district.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education or related field
- Must be able to apply for a teaching license in the state of New Hampshire (must be a endorsed in special education)
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs particularly in a selfcontained classroom setting is preferred
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and the ability to develop and implement effective educational strategies to meet students goals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues parents and support staff
