API Architect API Specialist

Role: API Architect / API Specialist

Location: Remote AZ (Preferred Candidates from West Coast)

End Client: Banner Health

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop robust scalable and secure API solutions.

Define and implement API architecture guidelines and standards.

Collaborate with software engineers product managers and other stakeholders to gather

requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Ensure APIs are welldocumented easily consumable and consistent with industry standards.

Conduct API design reviews and provide feedback to ensure adherence to best practices.

Monitor and optimize API performance ensuring high availability and reliability.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to API development and

integration.

Mentor and guide junior developers on API design and development practices.

Participate in the full software development lifecycle including coding testing deployment and maintenance.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development with a focus on API design and

architecture.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Java Python JavaScript or similar.

Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP web services.

Experience with API management platforms (e.g. Akana BoomiApigee MuleSoft Kong).

Knowledge of authentication and authorization frameworks (e.g. OAuth JWT).

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.

Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team
