- Creating Schedules: Construction schedulers develop and manage project schedules. They define project tasks estimate necessary resources and create timelines.
- Baseline Creation: They establish the initial project baseline which serves as a reference point for tracking progress.
- Monthly Updates: Construction schedulers perform monthly updates to the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule. This involves adjusting timelines resource allocations and identifying any deviations from the baseline.
- Narrative Reporting: They provide narrative reports that explain schedule changes delays and other relevant information.
- LookAhead Schedules: Construction schedulers assist in developing lookahead schedules. These shortterm plans help coordinate construction operations and ensure smooth execution.
- Staffing Projection: They project staffing needs ensuring adequate personnel and access to tools and materials.
- Collaboration: Construction schedulers work closely with project supervisors managers engineers and site staff to compile data on project costs and time status.
- Internal Control Safeguards: Construction schedulers establish and maintain internal control safeguards to ensure accurate reporting.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience developing CPM schedules preferably in heavy civil projects (water/wastewater treatment experience is a plus).
- Software Skills: Proficiency in project management software (such as Primavera P6) and tools.
- Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction practices techniques and building codes.
- Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
