Mid-Level Java Developer SLG

Description

This position will be in support of the NYS Tax Modernization Program. This program will encompass multiple projects to modernize legacy systems within the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance which is responsible for billions in state revenue. This position is targeted for the Real Property Systems Modernization project.

Duties

• The selected candidate will be a developer for the Tax Modernization effort and provide support for maintenance activities. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Provide programming duties for tax related applications.
• Develop and review detailed documentation for system and program change requirement including detail specifications documents.
• Assist and provide guidance through all phases of the project management life cycle.
• Develop unit test plans based on coding changes and user specifications. Conduct unit testing and debugging of all code changes in the development environment.
• Coordinate the migration of all code changes (programs procedures etc.) from development environment into user test environment.
• Use distributed technologies including Java DB2 XML and XQuery.
• Provide support as needed for defects and issue resolution. Ensure that defects and issues are addressed promptly based on priority.
• Facilitate and participate in meetings with ITS and DTF customers.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with DTF management and users ITS management and team members.

Mandatory Requirements

• Experience (5 Years)
• Is involved with all facets of the software development process including the research design programming testing and implementation of computer software.

Requirements

• This is an 100% Onsite
• 36 months experience with J2EE technologies including JDBC JSP and XML.
• 36 months experience developing building and testing Java EE applications using modern IDEs such as Eclipse NetBeans or IntelliJ.
• 24 months experience using J2EE frameworks such as Spring or struts.
• 12 months experience writing SQL statements for relational databases.
• 12 months of experience in messaging technologies such as MQ JMS Kafka.
• 12 months experience developing with HTML CSS and JavaScript.
