Hostel warden

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor the activities within the hostel premises
• Enforce hostel rules and regulations to ensure student safety and wellbeing
• Handle and resolve disciplinary issues and conflicts among students
• Organize and oversee hostel events ensuring a positive and inclusive environment
• Coordinate with maintenance staff for upkeep of hostel facilities
• Manage hostel budget and inventory of supplies
• Communicate effectively with students parents and staff regarding hostel matters
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness safety and compliance with regulations
• Provide guidance and support to students being accessible for any concerns or needs
• Document and report any incidents or irregularities
• Collaborate with the school administration to implement policies and procedures
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
• Stay informed about emergency procedures and act promptly in case of any emergencies
• Ensure proper recordkeeping of student details and incidents

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Education Counseling Social Work Psychology or related field
• Proven experience in a residential life student affairs or related role
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse student population
• Strong understanding of student development and issues related to residential living
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
• Proficient in conflict resolution and crisis management
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to student housing
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• First aid and CPR certification preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours and be oncall as needed
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and recordkeeping systems
• Understanding of mental health and wellbeing support services
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
• Dedication to fostering a welcoming and inclusive community for students

1. A minimum of 4 plus years of experience as a Hostel warden
2. Good communication skills English and Vernacular
3. should be good team player.
4. Should have a good understanding of hostel operations. Experience in Handling stores and kitchen is an added advantage.
5. Having computer knowledge.
6. Ability to solve problems.
