Job Description

Overview

The French Specialist plays a crucial role in our organization providing language expertise and cultural insight to support various projects and initiatives. This role is essential in ensuring effective communication and understanding between our organization and Frenchspeaking audiences. The French Specialist will engage in translation interpretation and cultural adaptation to contribute to the success of our programs and activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and fluent translations from French to English and vice versa.
  • Conduct interpretation services during meetings conferences and other events.
  • Develop and maintain terminology databases and glossaries in French.
  • Assist with content localization and cultural adaptation for Frenchspeaking markets.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure linguistic and cultural accuracy in materials and communications.
  • Conduct language and cultural training for team members.
  • Review and edit translated materials for quality assurance.
  • Stay updated on linguistic and cultural trends in the Frenchspeaking world.
  • Provide support for market research and communication strategies targeting Frenchspeaking audiences.
  • Participate in crossfunctional projects requiring French language expertise.
  • Engage in effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of French language and cultural policies.
  • Assist in the organization of events and programs targeting Frenchspeaking audiences.
  • Contribute to the creation of French language content for various channels.
  • Represent the organization at Frenchspeaking events and with Frenchspeaking partners.

Required qualifications

  • Fluency in French both written and spoken.
  • Bachelors degree in French Linguistics Translation or related field.
  • Proven experience in translation interpretation or languagerelated roles.
  • Deep understanding of French culture traditions and societal norms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
  • Proficiency in English to accurately convey translations and communication.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to accuracy in language usage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of translation tools and software is a plus.
  • Certification in translation or interpretation is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt language and communication styles to different audiences.
  • Experience in creating and conducting language or cultural training sessions is a plus.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities and requirements.
