Job Description

Overview:

The position of a Medical Gastroenterologist (DM/DNB) plays a crucial role in providing specialized healthcare services related to the digestive system. Medical Gastroenterologists are essential in diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions and diseases contributing significantly to the overall wellbeing of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and treating patients with digestive system disorders and diseases.
  • Performing endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy.
  • Providing comprehensive care to patients with liver gallbladder and pancreas diseases.
  • Interpreting and analyzing diagnostic tests and medical history to develop treatment plans.
  • Participating in clinical research and scholarly activities related to gastroenterology.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Managing and overseeing outpatient and inpatient care for gastroenterology patients.
  • Applying evidencebased medical practices and staying updated with advancements in the field.
  • Participating in educational activities and training programs for medical students and residents.
  • Leading and participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Providing consultation services to other healthcare professionals.
  • Complying with healthcare regulations and maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Contributing to the development of clinical guidelines and treatment protocols.
  • Participating in professional development and continuing medical education.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD/DM/DNB in Gastroenterology.
  • Valid medical license and board certification in Gastroenterology.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience as a practicing Gastroenterologist.
  • Proficiency in endoscopic procedures and interpretation of endoscopy results.
  • Strong clinical and analytical skills with a patientcentered approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in conducting clinical research and scholarly activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional knowledge and skills through continuous learning.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fastpaced clinical environment.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring medical students residents and fellows.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare compliance regulations.
  • Excellent problemsolving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with diverse patient populations and cultural sensitivities.
  • Strong commitment to ethical and evidencebased medical practice.
