Overview

Key responsibilities

• Listen to speakers statements in one language interpret and restate them in another language.
• Translate written documents from French to the target language and vice versa.
• Convey tone intent and meaning accurately when interpreting between languages.
• Remain impartial and neutral at all times conveying the speakers message in an unbiased manner.
• Understand and apply industryspecific terminology when interpreting in specialized fields.
• Remain up to date with language developments and new terminologies to ensure accurate interpretations.
• Provide cultural guidance to clients or individuals when necessary to ensure accurate communication.
• Adhere to professional standards of confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
• Manage and maintain interpreting equipment and ensure its proper functioning.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance interpretation skills.

Required qualifications

• Fluency in French and the target language.
• Bachelors degree in Translation Interpretation Linguistics or a related field.
• Proven experience as a French Interpreter preferably in a professional setting.
• Excellent listening interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of cultural nuances and nonverbal communication.
• Ability to stay focused and retain information during extensive periods of interpretation.
• Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle highpressure and sensitive situations with discretion.
• Experience with interpretation equipment and software is a plus.
