Job Description

About Us:

At HealthOPM Our People Matter. We were founded to address the workforce gaps in the healthcare sector. We work with clients in all healthcare sectors including long term care retirement communities hospitals health centers and community clinics. Anywhere in Ontario that care is needed you can find us there.

We are currently looking for an Housekeeper or Cleaner interested in a fulltime or parttime position in the Greater Sudbury Area.


Quick Information

Compensation: $18.50 $22.50 / hr

Vulnerable Sector Check (1 year) VSC

TB Test (6 months)

Location: Greater Sudbury Area

Start Date: ASAP

Position Type Permanent

Schedule: 7am7pm x 2 days 7p7a x2 days (5 days off)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent (i.e. General Education Development (GED) or Academic and Career Entrance (ACE)).
  • Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps training certificate is required
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferably in a retirement home long term care facility etc. is required.
  • An understanding of the needs and issues of the older adult is required.
  • An understanding of effective Infection Prevention and Control practices is required.
  • Familiarity with WHMIS Occupational Health and Safety and Sanitation Code.
  • Availability to work weekdays/weekends and for oncall coverage for sick call replacement is required.
  • Good attendance record is required.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is required (dated within 6 months of start of employment).
  • TwoStep TB testing is required.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of infection control cleaning and isolation procedures including waste handling and management procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand interpret and apply written and oral instructions including dilutions Safety Data Sheets (S.D.S.) policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to push equipment and carts and safely lift a minimum of 25 kilograms.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with basic proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word Excel and Outlook) and applicable patient information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and communicate with patients families and healthcare workers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently as a team member in a fastpaced environment.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to follow instructions is required.
  • Ability to do extensive standing walking squatting kneeling and lifting of objects up to 50lbs is required.

  • Demonstrated compliance with HSNs privacy policy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the safety of coworkers and patients

  • Ability to work well independently and under pressure.
  • High interpersonal and customer service skills.
