Job Description

The Field Service Engineer is an experienced field personnel resource in the Onboard Service organization who routinely performs preventative maintenance repair/troubleshooting services Service Technician field training System Project commissioning Warranty investigations technical support and Project supervision work.

The Field Service Engineer is competent across multiple Evac systems and has gained full expertise in at least one specific product range. They are called upon for advanced troubleshooting and can provide expert feedback from the field to the Product and Warranty teams to improve our company offerings.

These are essential personnel as they provide the best handson training for new Service Technicians and other personnel learning new equipment operations and troubleshooting.

The Field Service Engineer is also best suited for assisting with technical support questions from internal stake holders who are working with specific customer issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Onboard Service Tasks

  • Preventative maintenance repair commissioning warranty and project work
  • Installation configuration troubleshooting and maintaining products and equipment.
  • Identifies analyses and repairs product failures installs new components or parts and modifications for equipment failures.
  • Performs startups testing and customer training on features and general maintenance of products.
  • Onsite field training for other technicians/engineers who are learning new equipment

Project/Product/Sales Support

  • Provides feedback to Product Management as to how equipment is working in the field
  • Maintains good communication with Project Managers while onsite supervising projects.
  • Available for use in testing equipment when in R&D phases
  • Perform warranty surveys if more information is required for a claim.
  • Presales surveys for refit sales
  • Courtesy visits to local ships to maintain onboard relations

Sustainability and Customer Satisfaction

  • Always maintains professional communication with customer whether on site or electronic communication.
  • Produces internal reports for any lessons learned and findings that should be considered to improve products.

Competencies:

  • A Bachelors / Masters degree or vocational education in engineering
  • Mechanical and Electrical technical skills
  • Detailed Report Writing
  • Must be able to read blueprints and schematic drawings including P&IDs.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Understanding and ability to use Microsoft Office specifically MS Word and Excel
  • Suitable physical prerequisites for this job segment.
  • Working well under pressure in a team or solo environment while always remaining professional and positive.
  • BS in Engineering
  • 3 Years Experience
  • Controls software basic knowledge
