Bhumi is one of India s largest youth volunteer organizations with a mission to promote volunteering as a national habit. The successful candidate will join the National HR team and be responsible for all aspects of Volunteer management.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Volunteer Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers ensuring sufficient numbers for all programs and activities.
- Volunteer Training and Development: Design and conduct orientation sessions training programs and workshops to equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Engagement and Retention: Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer environment to enhance engagement and retention. Recognize and reward volunteer contributions regularly.
- Collaboration: Work closely with program managers and other staff to understand volunteer needs and align volunteer activities with organizational goals.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on volunteer activities engagement levels and program outcomes for internal review and external reporting purposes.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of longterm strategies for volunteer engagement ensuring alignment with Bhumis mission and objectives.
Preferred Education Qualification / Experience:
- Volunteer experience with Bhumi / similar organization essential preferably in an HR role
- Work experience Desirable
- Any graduation Essential
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to lead inspire and manage a diverse team of volunteers.
- Excellent communication skills English Hindi and/or Tamil
- Awareness of the diverse backgrounds and needs of volunteers and beneficiaries.
- Problemsolving and Decisionmaking skills are essential
- Willingness to travel nationally and locally as required
- Ability to build strong relationships with volunteers and understand their motivations and concerns.
- Proficiency in using volunteer management software and other tools to track volunteer engagement and program impact.
- DataOriented and Result Oriented yet focuses on Impact and Purpose over process

Skills Required: Networking find out & establish contact with local Communities, Colleges, NGOs & other Partnerships. Able to do house visits and good reachability in the community. Written and oral communication in Tamil and English. Hindi will be an added advantage.. Ability to engage with daily wagers and college dropouts & slum youths. Basic Idea of Qualitative and Quantitative research methodologies. Flexibility & Positive thoughts keen to learn new things.
