Job Description

Position : Growth Marketer

Working Hours : MF 9am5pm PST

Salary : 1500 USD to 3000 USD

About the company:

Our client is an earlystage venture capital firm headquartered in Venice CA with offices in Austin and Toronto. We invest in Seed and Series A stage companies outside Silicon Valley.

Summary of Position:

You will be one of Mucker’s growth advisors helping our portfolio companies with their growth strategies and gotomarket motions. You must know how to provide both a holistic understanding of best practices around gotomarket motions and the understanding of the underlying philosophy of "growth in stages" while at the same time being able to setup and implement tools as needed.

You must have a proven track record for implementing growth strategies at earlystage startups ideally with a playbook of best practices. However you will be serving under an apprenticeship for the first 12 months to understand how to diagnose and resolve gaps around gotomarket and growth for companies of all sizes and stages. After which you will be fairly autonomous in your role.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on metrics and KPI tracking for companies selling into various industries verticals ICPs B2B and B2C.
  • Provide guidance as to what tests to run based on a company's ICP when it comes to messaging channels and building out cohorts.
  • Advise on messaging frameworks across various ICPs and Personas how to generate SQLs across SMB midmarket and enterprisetype ICPs via a variety of channels including outbound sales content marketing and SEO and how to navigate enterprise sales motions.
  • Introduce best practices around PLG and how to optimize a product’s experience to drive growth.
  • A thorough understanding of martech solutions sales enablement tools and CRMs (mostly HubSpot) and provide recommendations on solutions that are most costeffective and offer the most value based on the size and stage of the company. Be able to explain why a solution is better than others based on a company's needs.
  • Assist with other projects and tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Must have earlystage startup experience (either as a founder or early employee)
  • Has a background in growth marketing in B2B SaaS
  • Has experience setting up outbound sales channels including but not limited to email LinkedIn SMS ringless VM cold call scripts etc.
  • Strong understanding of which KPIs and metrics to track and why at the top to midfunnel level
  • Strong data analysis skills. Does not need to perform financial modeling but does make decisions based on data and not just gut
  • Experience across paid channels (expert level not required) such as Facebook Ads SEM and LinkedIn (those applicable to B2B SaaS)
  • Naturally curious about the psychology around sales and marketing
  • Creative problem solver and knows how to properly run growth experiments
  • Ability to multithread – you will be working with multiple portfolio companies at any given point in time
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
