Team Leader - Machine Operator

Comply with all safety rules procedures and job safety codes.
Interprets specifications blueprints and job orders for workers and assigns duties under the direction of the supervisor daily.
Trains new employees in proper methods and procedures either personally or by assigning an operator to train when appropriate.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems when appropriate.
Conduct daily safety inspections.



Maintain the selfbalancing flow process and methods in a capable and aligned state and work to continuously improve.
Encourage employees to perform daily preuse inspection checklist for equipment and machinery
Perform complete machine set up for all job orders and carry out basic troubleshooting in the event of an anomaly or failure.



Read travelers and job packets to ascertain required material. Interpret shop drawings specifications and job orders for operators.
Use and ensure the use of personal protective equipment and safe operation by all operators to prevent near misses/hits and accidents.
Open communication with operators supervisor and first shift. Pass along information in a clear concise and timely manner.
Report actual or anticipated equipment or tooling issues material shortages procedural deficiencies and safety quality housekeeping or material handling discrepancies to the department supervisor.
Inspect incoming and outgoing material for quality and quantity. Verify that the quality and quantity of work performed meets
Follow lockout/tagout process in the event of machine breakdown and report to department supervisor.
Maintain a healthy and safe environment by keeping all work areas clean materials/parts positioned correctly and always following safe operating procedures.
Maintain equipment in good functional order and ensure guards are in place.
Report hazards and unsafe conditions to department supervisor immediately.
Continuously participate and recommend new method improvement ideas in writing to the department supervisor.
Participate and support projects charter teams and events to meet the company stated goals and budget.
Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.




Qualification:

Education and/or Experience:


High school diploma or general education degree.
Three years related experience in close tolerance sheet metal forming and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SelfBalancing Flow manufacturing knowledge/experience is essential.
Requires knowledge and ability to satisfactorily perform any and all duties and functions expected to their job classification and of lower classification personnel assigned to them.
Must be knowledgeable in administrative procedures; manufacturing and/or engineering documentation; work schedules setups methods and procedures; equipment operation safety and housekeeping requirements; and any other associated material administrative operational or employee relations matters that may affect their work area or assignments.
Must possess necessary written verbal interpersonal skills and other technical skills to properly direct assist and train lower classification personnel.


Communication Skills:


Must possess necessary verbal written interpersonal and other technical skills to properly direct assist and train other operators.
Must have the ability to communicate interruptions to production to the department supervisor.
Articulates safety quality and production related concerns within the department.
