You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJoin a leading residential developer in Toronto Ontario as their next Senior Project Accountant. In this role you will play a pivotal part in managing the financial aspects of 2 to 3 highrise residential development projects. You will have the flexibility to WFH 2 days per week while working closely with the accounting & development team providing critical financial insights to support the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Prepare and review journal entries accruals and reconciliations for monthend and yearend closing.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting.
Manage the preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements for various stakeholders.
Project Accounting:
Monitor full cycle accounting of project budgets and report on variances to ensure financial goals are met.
Review and approve projectrelated invoices and ensure proper coding and allocation.
Assist in the preparation of project cash flow forecasts and update monthly based on changes in estimates and schedules.
Prepare monthly HST remittances
Manage equity and debt draws for projects consistent with their legal structuring in coordination with cost consultants and construction lenders
Manage monthly progress draws for equity partners and lenders ensuring accurate reporting of project status costs incurred and costs to complete.
Assist in the preparation of insurance applications for new development projects.
Audit and Compliance:
Prepare working papers for annual financial statement reviews and audits.
Support the audit process and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Mentor and guide junior accounting staff fostering their professional growth.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Liaise with external auditors tax advisors and regulatory bodies as needed.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting with a residential developer.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Procore Newstar and/or Yardi.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including using pivot tables Vlookups and A.I.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Must have experience working on largescale projects simultaneously
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
Familiar with AI and how it improves efficiency in accounting is an asset.
Knowledge of construction accounting and job costing.
