Windows & VMWare Job Description

Primary Skill:

Install configure maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server operating systems

Patch management using other tools such as SCCM Automax

Vulnerability remediation

Monitor all system alerts and assist to resolve complex issues in windows servers on day to day basis

Coordinate with various teams and vendors to perform troubleshooting on all production issues and provide resolution.

Should have experience on supporting datacenter infrastructures and interacting with clients whenever required

Scheduling installations and upgrades in accordance with IT policies and procedures.

Coordination with the appropriate groups to ensure that a unified direction/plan is in place and is being followed through to completion.

Responsible for installing configuring and maintaining operating system on servers in support of business processing requirements.

Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.

Support New or existing Network File Share Creation NTFS and Sharing Permissions Management File Server and DFS

Print Server New Printer Addition Configuration Print Queue Cleanup etc.

SFX/SFTP management (Provide access)

Should have sound knowledge on following Windows and AD technologies.

Windows Server distributions

Active Directory

DNS

DHCP

DFS File FTP and Print Servers

Remote Desktop Services (RDS) / Terminal Services

Group Policy Objects (GPO)

WSUS / SCCM

Windows Failover Cluster

Disk Expansion Memory & CPU Core Increase

Migrate (vMotion) VM from Host to another Host for CPU & Memory Resources

Migrate (svMotion) VM from one datastore to another datastore for space management

Experience/ Knowledge Hardware like Cisco Dell & HPE Knowledge on VMWare would be added advantage

Design install configure and maintain VMware vSphere 6.x/7.x Enterprise Plus virtualization infrastructure

Perform daily system monitoring verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware server resources systems and key processes reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups

Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware peripherals services settings directories storage etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements

Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures

Research and recommend innovative and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale

Assist in capacity planning and performance analysis

Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Administer and maintain enduser accounts permissions and access rights

Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions

Upgrade systems and process regularly following industry best practices

Backup data and ensure proper disaster recovery protocols are in place

Respond to inquiries from staff administrators service providers site personnel and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support
