Licensed Practical Nurse LPN

We are hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for one of our clients in Richmond VA.

Job Description:

• Provides evidencebased nursing care utilizing the nursing process principles practices and techniques of general nursing care as determined by Standards of Practice under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Screens for sick call administers medications and provides first aid and basic life support to patients and employees as needed.
• Maintains open lines of communication with security and treatment staff while providing input and feedback to assist the facility provider in organizing a treatment plan.
• Records all pertinent information into the medical record.
• Interfaces with other departments as needed.
• Promotes continued competence through education/certification with a focus on correctional nursing.
• Nurses must have the ability to work hours days and locations as assigned along with being capable and available to provide coverage as needed to meet institutional needs.
• Organizational Objective: Provide total health care to offenders (routine chronic and emergent care) maintaining continuity of care from admission to discharge in a correctional facility Safe medication administration following DOC policy Provide employee health services in accordance with policy Follows operational policies/procedures Health Services guidelines/policies ACA standards of care and Board of Health professionals scope of practice

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Must possess and maintain a valid unrestricted Virginia LPN license issued by the board of nursing or a multistate compact license (if you are a recent graduate of a nursing program in VA and not licensed the NCLEXPN exam must be scheduled at the time of application)
• Demonstrated ability to screen complaints of physical ailments and refer necessary cases to other medical professionals Experience in carrying out providers orders in applying treatments
• Maintaining appropriate documentation
• Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers with current certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or client (ARC) is required upon hire

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Additional Considerations

• 6 months contract.

Payrate:

• LPN with 14 years of experience: $26.00
• LPN with 59 years of experience: $29.20
• LPN with 10plus years of experience: $32.40
