Technical Business Analyst RHV OpenStack OpenShift

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of this position is to support the Practice Architect in gathering data through analysis of the customers data centers hosting Red Hat Virtualization and OpenStack. The processes used to gather data include identification of owners analysis of technical specifications of virtual machines dependencies and potential modernization steps to support an endtoend assessment of inventory. This position will also require the ability to identify critical questions in the migration assessment process that will determine the outcome of a migration to openshift hosted in AWS. Cost analysis is also an outcome that will support the documentation needed for a complete assessment.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend business unit interviews for knowledge and understanding of the current state of workloads hosted in either RHV or Openstack.

Use technical workflow knowledge to identify dependencies needed during the migration process.

Determine cost of on prem resources and the effect of migration into AWS on the TCO.

Assist the Technical Writer with the knowledge gained to fill out assess documents for RHV and Openstack.

Assist the Red Hat Engineer in writing scripts for end users to adopt to analyze the running VMs.

Determine potential modernization candidates based on TCO and technical requirements. E.g. Serverless instead of OpenShift.

RHEL CentOS Fedora Administration experience

Ability to assess potential migration candidates based on workload information from customer.

Experienced with AWS cloud/MAP (Migration Acceleration Program)

Good communication skills are required when working with the various user departments and IT

Excellent oral and written communication skills with competency in spelling and grammar

Must be a selfstarter with the ability to objectively analyze recognize problem situations and develop system solutions.

Must be a team player

Required Knowledge & Experience

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science or relevant experience

Minimum three to five years of Red Hat Virtualization/OpenStack/ OpenShift experience

Experience in AWS Migrations having completed at least one major migration

Experience in creating data analysis reports

Documentation experience and Interpersonal communication.
