Job Description

VPG has a long history of innovation specifically in precision foil resistors and foil strain gauges. This served as a foundation to expand into strain gauge instrumentation load cells transducers weighing modules and complete systems for process control and onboard vehicle weighing.

Working within our successful Micro Measurements Division we are seeking a new Technical Sales Engineer. You know who you are and we want to know who you are too. For this role your personality is just as important as your experience. We are looking for someone who is proactive and displays our company values; these are Courage diligence and Connectedness. This fulltime role covers a northern UK region plus we would like individuals to visit our Basingstoke site at least once every 6 weeks. You will be required to work as part of a wider team within a busy and demanding environment supporting the activities of the Divisional and Regional Sales Managers and Engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and nurturing relationships with key customer accounts and performing endtoend account management activity in the defined territory.
  • Proactively engage with existing customers within the defined region in all activities both current and potential with a view to maximizing Sales and organic Sales growth.
  • Negotiate contracts meet with purchasing procurement and other key decision makers in order to establish firm and profitable customer relationships.
  • Provide applications support including workshops and sales assistance for the customers for the customer s technical and purchasing staff.
  • Maintain Company CRM System produce reports and other documentation as deemed necessary.
  • Identify potential new customers within the defined region qualify and develop them as necessary to achieve new business sales in line with the company strategy.
  • Discover and explore new business opportunities (NBO s) in the defined territory.
  • Analyze and report key sales and project management data and forecast future expectations for the region.
  • Provide application support and sales assistance for the customers technical and purchasing staff.
  • Arranging and attending business meetings with prospective clients.
  • Manage & follow on development projects from conception to completion.

Requirements :

  • Experienced Degree level educated Technical Sales Engineer
  • Develop and nurturing relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Attend and arrange customer meetings both facetoface and online.
  • Experience in Sales and Marketing Sensors or associated industries
  • The ability to handle and prioritize a fluctuating varied and sometimes pressurized workload is important.
  • Experience using internal MRP systems and the full Microsoft Office suite
