The Seafarer Recruiting Officer is a vital role responsible for identifying attracting and onboarding talented individuals to work within the maritime industry. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that the company has a skilled and reliable team of seafarers to operate vessels and provide safe and efficient marine services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract potential seafarers.
- Conducting interviews and assessments to evaluate candidates qualifications and skills.
- Building and maintaining relationships with maritime training institutions and agencies.
- Coordinating with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and requirements.
- Managing the application and selection process from initial contact through to placement.
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards in the recruitment process.
- Providing guidance and support to candidates throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
- Collaborating with internal teams to facilitate smooth onboarding and deployment processes.
- Participating in industry events and career fairs to promote opportunities and attract talent.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate and uptodate recruitment documentation and records.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Maritime Studies or a related field.
- Proven experience in recruitment particularly within the maritime industry.
- Deep knowledge of maritime regulations certification requirements and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships.
- Demonstrated negotiation and influencing abilities to attract and retain talent.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of relevant software for managing recruitment and HR processes.
