Job Description

Overview:

The Admission Counselor plays a crucial role in the organization responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process providing information and offering support to ensure a smooth transition into the institution. This role is vital in attracting and enrolling qualified candidates while upholding the institutions admissions standards and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with prospective students and families to provide comprehensive information about the admissions process and requirements
  • Review and evaluate applications and supporting materials for admissions decisions
  • Assist in organizing and conducting campus tours information sessions and recruitment events
  • Provide personalized counseling to prospective students regarding academic programs and career paths
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless transition for admitted students
  • Participate in outreach and recruitment efforts through high school visits and college fairs
  • Track and maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions and application statuses
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective recruitment strategies
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in admissions and enrollment management
  • Handle inquiries and concerns effectively and professionally

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Education Counseling or related field
  • Prior experience in admissions student services or related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of the college admissions process and financial aid
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software
  • Knowledge of educational systems and accreditation standards
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities
  • Customer serviceoriented mindset and strong organizational skills
  • Understanding of cultural diversity and inclusion in an educational setting
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to travel for recruitment events and high school visits
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with recruitment and marketing strategies in higher education
