Job Description

Overview:

As an Ophthalmologist Consultant in Chitradurga Karnataka you will play a vital role in providing specialized medical care for patients with eyerelated conditions. Your expertise in diagnosing treating and preventing eye diseases and injuries will contribute significantly to the wellbeing and vision health of the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose and treat various ocular conditions.
  • Perform surgical procedures such as cataract removal laser eye surgery and corneal transplants.
  • Prescribe medication and corrective lenses to address vision problems and diseases.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans and provide holistic care for patients.
  • Educate patients about eye health preventive measures and postoperative care.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment such as OCT and fluorescein angiography for precise evaluations.
  • Participate in research clinical trials and the development of innovative ophthalmic treatments.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to ethical and regulatory standards.
  • Provide consultations and second opinions for complex eye conditions referred by other healthcare professionals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with a specialization in Ophthalmology.
  • Board certification in Ophthalmology and a valid state medical license.
  • Demonstrated expertise in performing ophthalmic surgeries including phacoemulsification and vitrectomy.
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye disorders from refractive errors to retinal diseases.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with patients families and colleagues effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with compassion and empathy for patients.
  • Proficient in the use of ophthalmic diagnostic tools and electronic health records systems.
  • Commitment to continuous learning professional development and staying updated with industry advancements.
  • Aptitude for teamwork interdisciplinary collaboration and contributing to a positive work culture.
  • Deep understanding of medical ethics patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
