Job Description

Our client has established offices in both Dallas and Houston making us easily accessible to our clients in these bustling cities. Our clients expertise covers a diverse range of industries allowing them to serve each of their unique needs and objectives effectively.

  • Review complex bank reconciliations and assigned accounting tasks.
  • Prepare work papers payroll and property tax reports financial statements client invoices and tax returns.
  • Handle more challenging financial reporting projects for multiple locations and firms.
  • Assist with and complete yearend tax planning.
  • Compile or review procedures according to accepted accounting principles and SSARS standards.
  • Manage engagement phases set budgets and ensure timely completion.
  • Supervise and guide staff in their work and preparation of work papers.
  • Research and address tax issues and communicate with clients and partners.
  • Provide training on accounting software to clients.
  • Work as a controller at the clients office as needed.
  • Provide weekly updates to partners on project status.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree with a focus in Accounting or comparable (35 years) public accounting experience.
  • CPA license in good standing or CPA candidate actively pursuing testing or educational requirements to test. Preferred: 35 years of public accounting experience demonstrating a progression in complexity scope and number of engagements managed or 35 years experience in a related industry.
  • Current knowledge of accounting software is a plus (QuickBooks CCH ProSystems Axcess Engagement Microsoft Excel etc.).
  • Ability to prioritize and perform assigned tasks on time.
  • Ability to analyze complex accounting issues.
  • Ability to prepare business and individual income tax returns efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Current knowledge of preparing GAAP and SPF financial statements including disclosures.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate orally and in writing with clients taxing authorities partners and peers.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with client matters.
  • Ability to maintain a professional presence while at the clients office.
