Trying to find someone who has all 3 of: technical skills in our tech stack soft skills for mentoring/collaborating/etc. and interest in working on legacy/older applications for the next year or more as we dont know the timeline of our modernization yet.
We are seeing candidates who fit 1 or 2 of those but not all 3....and who arent truly at that level V skillset in these areas
Project:
- Pharmacy related team when there is a medication you have to go to the doctor or hospital for (cancer treatment vaccinations etc). This team supports prior authorization data to ensure cost savings.
- If a doctor wants to give a treatment they make sure all of the criteria is met correct dosages are given etc.
- They own some existing legacy applications that have been around for 20 years. This person will be focused on expanding functionality adding new customers etc.
Responsibilities:
- Participate & contribute in code reviews scrum meetings etc.
- Mentor less knowledgeable developers
- New feature development supporting the existing functionality of the applications
Must Haves:
- 8 years of experience
- Need someone who is willing to provide mentorship have some leadership skills
- Need to be comfortable working on monolithic legacy applications
- .NET Core & .NET Framework
- C#
- VB.NET
- SQL stored procedures querying
- Will be relatively DB heavy need to have good skills here
Hiring Challenges:
- Candidates have not had the level of technical skill needed not able to answer interview questions in detail beating around the bush on questions etc
- Communication skills have been lacking this is a level 5 role so need to have some ability to be a leader on the team
- Candidates have been more interested in modern tech stacks. These are legacy applications. They may modernize in the future but its not a priority right now
IV Process:
- HM will review in FG and request IVs in the tool
- One and done IV with HM and a peer manager
- STAR questions no coding technical and behavioral
